If the transition to mobile was indeed the biggest challenge in Mark Zuckerberg's early career as CEO of a billion-dollar company, he has managed it admirably well. Facebook not only generates the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/chart\/2496\/facebook-revenue-by-segment\/\">most of its revenue<\/a> with mobile advertising, the company also owns some of the most popular apps in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, Instagram announced that it now has more than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/chart\/9157\/instagram-monthly-active-users\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">One billion monthly active users<\/a> making it the fourth platform in Facebook's portfolio to reach this milestone. A look at some of Facebook's competitors illustrates just how difficult it is to reach this level of adoption. With Twitter, Snapchat and Pinterest all struggling to reach 500 million users, it's hard to imagine any of them reaching a billion.
