Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) is a key term in the fields of drone technology, automation and digital transformation. It describes flights by drones or unmanned aerial vehicles in which the aircraft is outside the pilot's direct line of sight.<\/p>\n
Normally, drone pilots always have to keep an eye on their aircraft. Thanks to Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS), however, drones can be used much more widely and flexibly. This is particularly useful, for example, when inspecting power lines, pipelines or delivering parcels to remote locations. The drone flies routes that are too long or confusing to monitor with the naked eye.<\/p>\n
BVLOS flights open up new opportunities for companies to work more efficiently and save costs - for example, because manned helicopters are no longer required. However, special safety precautions and legal requirements must be observed in order to avoid collisions.
