The summer sun shines so brightly that everything glitters in sun gold and coral red. Voices and laughter can be heard everywhere, as the peoples of the Neflental celebrate together during the glorious high. Rosa Periwinkle loves these days because everyone comes together happily and enjoys the summer.\n<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-family:verdana;text-align:left;\">A special day in the Bernbl\u00fctenhain<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-family:verdana;text-align:left;\">\nOn one of these summer days, Rosa took a walk to the Bernbl\u00fctenhain. Golden yellow flowers bloomed there, smelling of honey and summer rain. Bees buzzed through the air and the light danced on the emerald green leaves. Rosa sat down under a large flowering bush and listened to the babbling of the nearby river, whose water sparkled sapphire blue.\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family:verdana;text-align:left;\">\nMany creatures from Neflental were gathered in the grove. They sat around the campfire between colourful lanterns and dancing fireflies. Everyone could tell their stories. The voices sounded like music to Rosa's ears.\n<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-family:verdana;text-align:left;\">A difficult mood<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-family:verdana;text-align:left;\">\nBut Rosa soon realised that not everyone was happy today. The little Flossian Lino was sitting at the edge of the party. His clothes were full of blue spots, but his look was sad and he wasn't talking to anyone. Because Rosa had the superpower of empathy, she immediately sensed that Lino felt alone.\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family:verdana;text-align:left;\">\nInstead of asking immediately, she sat down quietly next to him. The wind blew the scent of flowers towards them and Rosa saw Lino let out a deep sigh. She did nothing at first and let Lino feel that she was really there.\n<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-family:verdana;text-align:left;\">Empathy superpower: listening to others<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-family:verdana;text-align:left;\">\nAfter a while, Rosa asked cautiously: \"Lino, would you like to tell us what's bothering you?\" Because Rosa didn't push him and smiled kindly, Lino began to speak slowly. He said that he felt lost among all the revellers. Everyone was laughing about stories he didn't know and he didn't know how to join in.\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family:verdana;text-align:left;\">\nRosa listened to him attentively. She nodded, asked questions and showed that she really wanted to understand how he was feeling. Because she knew how important it was to listen, she let Lino finish. She imagined how it would feel to be alone like this - in the middle of a celebrating group.\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family:verdana;text-align:left;\">\nWith her superpower of empathy, she could understand Lino's feelings. She thought about what could help him. So she suggested that Lino make up a new song with her - a song that everyone could sing along to, no matter how many stories they knew.\n<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-family:verdana;text-align:left;\">Strong together through understanding<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-family:verdana;text-align:left;\">\nLino and Rosa began to sing together. One by one, other children joined them. They heard the melody and felt invited. Lino's eyes began to light up as more and more voices joined in. The joy was now not only audible, but could be felt everywhere in the grove.\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family:verdana;text-align:left;\">\nLino realised that someone finally really understood him. Not because someone wanted to help him straight away, but because Rosa honestly wanted to know how he was feeling. This made Lino feel accepted - and he encouraged others to share their feelings too.\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family:verdana;text-align:left;\">\nAt the end of the festival, everyone danced and sang together under the golden yellow blossoms. The air smelled of summer rain and honey, lanterns swayed in the warm night and the amber blossom grove shone in the glow of the Neflen valley. The shared joy arose because one truly understood the other.\n<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-family:verdana;text-align:left;\">What do we learn from this?<\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-family:verdana;text-align:left;\">\nWith the superpower of empathy, you can open the hearts of others. When you listen, are kind and empathise with others, you make the world a little brighter. Rosa shows you that it is often enough to simply be there and ask honestly how someone is feeling. This can turn sad moments into new friendships.
