Americans expect driverless cars to be commonplace in 10 years

Not so long ago, there were Self-driving cars It was still science fiction, but today the technology is a reality. In California alone, various companies have put a test fleet of 409 autonomous vehicles on the road. In the meantime, Tesla owners around the world can activate their Autopilot system to let their cars drive themselves completely. Given the considerable progress made in recent years, when do Americans expect driverless cars to become mainstream?

A new Gallup poll among 1,503 US citizens revealed that 34 per cent of those surveyed assume that Fully autonomous vehicles will be part of everyday life in the next 6 to 10 years. 19 per cent of respondents are even more optimistic and expect self-driving cars to become commonplace within five years.
