So you always stay yourself in Neflental

On a crisp spring morning in the Neflental valley, the Sonnenfedertal awoke to new life. Golden-feathered birds sounded everywhere in the trees. Their song sounded like a cheerful promise for the day. The sky glowed a soft blue, while the meadows shimmered in May green. The flowers of the hawthorn bushes shone like ivory elves and the sun's rays danced across the valleys in bright gold.

Rosa Periwinkle walked along one of the soft paths - the nightingale path. Roses liked to walk along this winding path because the nightingales twittered high up in the branches. Their song sometimes sounded soft and sometimes loud. Rosa listened carefully because she loved the language of birds and wanted to understand what they were singing.

Travelling along the Nachtigallenstieg

As Rosa Periwinkle walked on, she met Mara Flossianer. Mara swirled water around her toes and said that everyone should try to sing like the golden-feathered birds - then everyone could sound the same. "Maybe we should pretend to be completely different today!" Mara shouted happily.

But Rosa Periwinkle thought for a moment. Every day was different in the Sunfeather Valley. But she felt most comfortable when she could simply be who she really was. She thought of the nightingale climb. The nightingales never sounded like sparrows or ducks. They always sounded like themselves. She liked that. So Rosa Periwinkle stopped and looked at Mara.

Why authenticity is important in the Neflental

There were so many colours, sounds and smells in the Sonnenfedertal. No two trees were the same. The hawthorn bushes smelled different to the fern meadows. The lake sparkled differently to the streams. Rosa Periwinkle sensed that there was a great secret in all these differences. Each one was unique. Each one radiated its own light and melody into the world.

"Mara," said Rosa Periwinkle, "today I want to sing like I've grown a beak. If I try to sound like the nightingales, I won't succeed. But I can sing my own song. It's much nicer because it's mine!"

Be courageously yourself

Mara thought for a moment and then laughed. Mara understood: whoever he is himself brings a unique song into the world. A cheerful, colourful concert now resounded in the Sonnenfedertal. The birds, the wind, Mara, even the brook - everyone sang and babbled in their own way.

At the end of the day, the colours of the Neflental valley shone particularly brightly. The May green of the meadows, the gold in the birds' feathers and the blue in the sky - everything seemed so much more intense when no one is pretending and everyone is simply being themselves.

What do we learn from this?

In Neflental, Rosa Immergrün shows us how important authenticity is. You are wonderful just the way you are. Every child and every young person in the valley has their own colours, their own voice and their own radiance. If you always remain yourself, you can let your light shine brightest. No one is like you - and that's a good thing! Together, everyone in the Sonnenfedertal creates a song that sounds more beautiful than any other.
