Collaborative robots (cobots) are used primarily in the fields of automation, industry and Factory 4.0, as well as for robots. Cobots are special robots that have been developed to work directly and safely with humans. In contrast to traditional industrial robots, which often work behind safety fences, cobots can be used flexibly side by side with employees.
The great advantage of collaborative robots (cobots) is that they take on tasks that are strenuous, monotonous or even dangerous for humans - without making the workplace unsafe. Thanks to sophisticated sensors and intelligent software, cobots recognise when a human is nearby and automatically stop or slow down their movements to avoid accidents.
An illustrative example: In a car factory, an employee works with a cobot to place doors on car bodies. The cobot lifts the heavy component while the employee precisely aligns and fastens it. This reduces physical strain and makes work more efficient. Collaborative robots (cobots) help companies to produce more flexibly and reduce the workload of employees.
