Computer vision AI is particularly important in the categories of artificial intelligence, automation and industry and Factory 4.0. This refers to a technology in which computers or machines are equipped with "eyes": They are given the ability to recognise and understand images and videos in a similar way to a human.

This artificial intelligence is trained to recognise and classify objects, shapes, colours or even people. This is done with the help of large amounts of data and special learning processes. Computer vision AI is widely used today - for example in quality control in factories. An intelligent camera system checks whether products are free of defects and sorts out faulty parts even before they are packaged. This saves the company time and money.

In everyday life, we encounter computer vision AI, for example, when unlocking our mobile phones using facial recognition or at automatic supermarket checkouts that recognise products based on their appearance. Computer vision AI thus helps companies to simplify processes, reduce costs and increase quality.
