Confidence anchor for models (Glossary)

The term "trust anchor for models" mainly comes from the fields of artificial intelligence, big data and smart data as well as cybercrime and cybersecurity. In today's digital world, models are often used that learn from large amounts of data in order to make predictions or decisions. But how secure and reliable are these models? This is where trust anchors come into play.

A confidence anchor for models is a "safety net", so to speak, that helps to check the reliability of data-driven models. It is used to test the model on known and trustworthy examples or facts. This makes it possible to check whether the model really delivers meaningful and comprehensible results.

A simple example: A company uses an AI model to pre-select applications. An anchor of trust could then be to test the model with applications where the outcome is already known - for example, from candidates who are clearly suitable or completely unsuitable. If the model makes the correct decision for these examples, this strengthens confidence in its further suggestions.

Trust anchors for models are therefore important for creating transparency and security in digital decisions.
