Consideration makes the world more colourful in Neflental
The day begins quietly and peacefully in the Neflental valley. The sun is low and casts golden stripes on the violet glade. Violets and crocuses grow everywhere here. In the centre stands a statue, old and covered in soft moss. Sometimes a ray of sunlight flashes into the statue's eyes and bathes it in a mysterious light. Everything glows in violet-purple, sunny yellow, leaf green and pearl grey.
Pink periwinkle hops across the clearing and collects a few crocuses for a very special celebration. Today is the beginning of spring! All the creatures in Neflental are celebrating together, but this time there's a problem.
Some birds are chirping louder than usual and the little Flossians by the lake are barking happily. The Buchians' voices are easily overheard because they prefer to speak quietly. The Periwinkles like to talk, but they prefer not to interrupt anyone. The Bergsteins are looking forward to the festival, but they need their peace and quiet from the hustle and bustle and prefer to hide behind stones.
Rosa Periwinkle realises that not everyone is happy. She wonders what she can do so that no one feels left out. So she sits down on a deep green fern and thinks. "If everyone is loud and no one listens, the valley stays quiet, even though there are so many great noises," she ponders.
A walk to the bay of water lilies
Because Rosa Periwinkle is looking for new ideas, she runs to the crystal lake. There lies the water lily bay. It looks calm and peaceful. Large, round leaves float on the water, delicate white flowers dance in the warm spring breeze. Colourful fish glide below. On the shore, dragonflies buzz with shimmering wings in the warm air.
Rosa Periwinkle observes how the fish do not push each other, but make room so that everyone can swim. The dragonflies also flutter around each other without disturbing each other. Everyone respects the others and makes sure that there is enough space for everyone.
Rosa Periwinkle understands that living together in Water Lily Bay works because everyone is considerate of each other! And that's why everything looks so colourful and lively.
The big spring festival
With this idea, Rosa Periwinkle runs back to the violet glade. She calls all the peoples together and tells them what she has seen in the water lily bay. "If we listen to each other and look out for each other, our festival will be even more beautiful! Everyone brings their own colours, and together the Neflental will be more colourful!" says Rosa Periwinkle cheerfully.
The Periwinkles leave the first circle to the smaller ones when dancing because they can slip through anywhere. The Buchians speak loudly enough for everyone to hear, and the Flossians don't splash around too wildly in the water so that the birdsong remains audible. The Bergsteins also come out of their caves and tell starry stories around the campfire.
Because everyone is so considerate, everyone has fun. The colours of the festival are even more vibrant than usual. The violets glisten in the light of the evening sun, the colourful fish in the lake sparkle and even the statue in the clearing seems to be smiling.
What do we learn from this?
With consideration, togetherness becomes more beautiful and colourful. When everyone contributes their own voices and at the same time respects others, a real celebration is created. At Neflental, residents practise being friendly and considerate every day. This makes life happier - for everyone.
