Conversational AI is particularly at home in the fields of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, eCommerce and digital commerce. Conversational AI refers to computer programmes that are able to communicate with people in natural language - similar to how we communicate with each other. This happens, for example, via text (as in chat) or voice (as with voice assistants).

The basis for this is advanced technologies that can recognise and understand speech and provide appropriate answers. In everyday life, we encounter solutions with conversational AI in chatbots on websites, for example, which answer customers' questions around the clock, or voice assistants such as Alexa, Siri or Google Assistant.

A concrete example: on an online shopping platform, a chatbot based on conversational AI can provide immediate assistance when customers are searching for a specific product, tracking orders or asking frequently asked questions. This saves time and makes the service faster and more personalised.

For companies, the use of conversational AI often means greater efficiency, better customer experiences and round-the-clock support without the need for direct human intervention.
