Courage to tell the truth in Neflental

The Neflental valley is full of secrets and wonders. In late summer, when the meadows glow a soft gold and the forests a midnight blue, everyone in the valley experiences special adventures. Pink evergreen awakens one morning in the fern forest as the first rays of sunshine dance through the huge leaves. The colours in the valley are particularly beautiful today: the dew shimmers pearl grey, opal and gold glisten between the moss and grass.

A difficult day in the Neflental

In the centre of the valley, the friends tell each other stories by the fire. But on this day, the evergreens are whispering quietly to each other. Someone has taken the old storybooks from the root cave and secretly put them back. No one knows who it was. There is a mystery in the air and many of them cast uncertain glances at each other.

Rosa Periwinkle can sense the brooding of her friends. She wants everyone to be honest with each other. But having the courage to tell the truth is sometimes difficult. Especially when you're afraid of disappointing others. She remembers the golden sunset from the pine glow the night before. The fir trees shone in a vibrant red colour, as if everything was completely honest and beautiful for a moment.

The path over the Tannenglutkuppe

Rosa Periwinkle decides to tell her friends the truth. The previous night, she had been looking for an old fairy tale book herself. She wanted to know how the dream weavers once awakened the light in the forest. She was too shy to admit that she was curious and perhaps a little careless.

In the afternoon, Rosa Periwinkle walks along the Dream Weaver's Path. The path is full of small, floating balls of light. They bathe everything in opal, midnight blue and gold. They dance through the branches like little suns. The path lights her way, even when her heart is pounding. At the end of the Dreamweaver's Path, Rosa Periwinkle stands on the red hilltop. She breathes in the cool air and gathers all her courage. She knows that the truth can sometimes be difficult. But she feels that she must do what is right.

Courage to tell the truth: dare to be real!

Rosa Periwinkle returns to the village in the evening. Everyone is already sitting round the fire. The Flossians are quietly telling jokes, the Buchians are listening. But Rosa Periwinkle stands up. She says in a firm voice: "I have something to tell you. I was in the root cave yesterday. I wanted to know more about the Dreamweavers. That's why I took out the book. I'm sorry I put it back without telling you I was there. I was afraid you would laugh at me or be disappointed."

Everything is quiet for a moment. Then an older Buchian woman says gently: "Thank you for being honest. It takes courage to tell the truth." A Flossian laughs and says: "Now we can read the book together. That's twice the fun!"

Suddenly everyone feels lighter. The friends are glad that Rosa Periwinkle has told the truth. Even their own little mistakes and secrets no longer seem so bad. By having the courage to tell the truth, the trust between them grows. They realise how important it is to be honest and genuine. The glowing red of the Tannenglutkuppe and the magical light on the Traumweberpfad accompany them on this special evening.

What do we learn from this?

Having the courage to tell the truth is sometimes difficult because you can be afraid. But if you are honest, you feel freer. Friends stick with you, even if you make a mistake. In Neflental, the residents learn that openness and honesty create strong friendships. This is how they grow together and the golden light in their hearts shines even brighter than that of the Tannenglutkuppe.
