Courage to tell the truth in Neflental

A new day dawned in the Neflental valley. The sun painted golden stripes on the fern meadows, while somewhere in the distance the peaks of the mountains glistened in the morning light. In the midst of this beauty, Rosa Periwinkle made her way to the maple glade. She had been carrying a secret with her for days. It weighed heavily on her heart, but she knew that today she had to find the courage to tell the truth.

The path to the maple glade

Leaves rustled along the path. The scent of damp earth and sweet resin was everywhere. The maple glade was a riot of autumn colour: bright red and warm orange flamed on the branches as if someone had painted the sky on them. In the midst of this blaze of colour, Rosa Periwinkle stood still and breathed in deeply. The clarity of the air almost made her feel a little braver.

A conversation in colourful light

Their friends were sitting at the edge of the clearing: Buchian, the friendly forest dweller, Flossi with the glittering skin and Bergi from the deep halls of the mountains. They waved cheerfully as they collected fresh blackberries. But their group lacked the laughter that was usually present when Rosa Immergrün was there.

Rosa Periwinkle sat down, smiled timidly and said: "I have something to tell you." Her heart was pounding wildly, but she knew she shouldn't hide her truth.

In a calm voice, Rosa Periwinkle explained how she had accidentally ruffled the colourful wreaths of leaves for the autumn festival. She hadn't dared to admit it straight away because she was afraid of getting into trouble. "But it feels so hard not to be honest," she continued quietly.

Courage to tell the truth colours the heart brightly

Buchian grinned and put a hand on her shoulder. "We all make mistakes," he said. "But you're brave for telling." Flossi laughed and splashed a little water. "Now we know - and together we can fix everything!" Bergi nodded seriously. "Only those who are honest can be truly free." The weight on Rosa's heart melted like frost in the morning sun.

Suddenly a gust of wind came and led the friends to the time mirror glade. Here, sparkling mirrors floated between ferns and colourful leaves. If you looked inside, you could see the seasons dancing: radiant summer, golden autumn, quiet winter and blossoming spring. Rosa Periwinkle looked into a mirror - and her real self looked back.

The colours of the Neflen Valley - emerald, gold, vermilion and blue-grey - were reflected in her smile. All her friends were amazed. "Look, Rosa! You're just as beautiful and genuine when you're true to yourself!" exclaimed Flossi. Buchian plucked a bright maple branch. "Autumn shines because the leaves dare to show their true colours. We should do the same."

So they spent the day in the clearings, laughing, repairing the leaf wreaths and telling stories. The sincerity that Rosa Periwinkle had shown brought them all a little closer together.

What do we learn from this?

Having the courage to tell the truth sometimes feels difficult. But if you are honest, everything becomes brighter and easier. Your friends and family will understand you. In Neflental, the colours shine particularly brightly when you are as real as you are. And even a small mistake can turn out well if you have the courage to talk about it openly. Just like Rosa Periwinkle did on that special day at the maple glade.
