Practical experience shows that the use of artificial intelligence is playing an increasingly important role in cyber defence. AI enables attack patterns to be recognised more quickly and contained automatically. This makes it possible to fend off complex attacks that are constantly evolving. Industrial companies use AI-based systems to effectively monitor their networks and stop attacks at an early stage.
Network segmentation is also a proven means of protecting critical areas from unauthorised access. This limits an attack locally and prevents it from spreading unhindered. This is particularly useful in industry because different production areas often need to be protected in very different ways.

Today, industrial companies are increasingly investing in modern strategies that not only protect against attacks, but also increase resilience. Zero Trust, AI-based monitoring systems and continuous training are central pillars of this.
