Summer is spreading in the Neflental valley. The time of the glorious high has arrived. The light shines golden and warm everywhere. The rivers glisten like little mirrors and the meadows are in full bloom. The residents celebrate the big summer festival by the lake. Lanterns can be seen everywhere, slowly rising into the sky. The colours shimmer in sun gold, sapphire blue, coral red and emerald green. It's a time for celebrating, dancing and dreaming.

The big dream on the starry meadow

Rosa Periwinkle sits on the shore while her friends laugh around the campfire. She looks up to the distant starry meadow. She has a very special dream. Rosa wants to reach the starry meadow that night. No one from her village has ever made it. But the wish in Rosa's heart burns as brightly as the lanterns over the water.

The Sternenwiese is a lonely high alpine pasture in the Neflental valley. Tiny, glowing flowers bloom there in the dark. They shimmer in all colours, just like stars. Anyone who enters the Sternenwiese can make a dream come true. But the path is long and steep, and only the very brave can make it.

Ambition shows the way in Neflental

Many friends say: "The path to the starry meadow is far too difficult. It's not worth the effort!" But Rosa thinks differently. She knows that big dreams can only be achieved with ambition. So she packs her little rucksack and resolves not to give up.

The first steps lead through glistening fields. Summer laughter can still be heard in the distance. But the path soon becomes steeper. Sometimes Rosa is startled when a branch cracks. She is afraid, but her ambition keeps her going.

Halfway there, it gets dark. The wind whistles softly. Rosa thinks of her dream of the starry meadow. She says to herself: "I want to see the starry meadow. I won't give up!" So she climbs on, step by step. Sometimes she slips, but she always gets up again.

The starry meadow shines for dreamers

At last she reaches the first plateau. Above her, the sky glows in gold and amber. A blue glow shimmers gently in the distance. The light of the starry meadow bathes the night in luminous patterns. Rosa walks the last path very slowly. She savours every step. Then she steps onto the meadow. The small flowers glow. They flicker like an open sky in the middle of the earth.

Rosa feels free and proud. Ambition has brought her here. She looks up and whispers her greatest dream to the wind. At that moment, the lanterns from the summer festival appear gently over the valley. Her heart beats with joy. Only those who don't give up, like Rosa, experience such wonders in the Neflental.
