Humour magic in the Neflental

On a fresh spring morning, the Neflental valley was a soft May green. Golden rays of sunlight flickered between the trees. Flowers in ivory and sky blue bloomed everywhere. Pink evergreens skipped merrily along the nightingale path. The narrow path meandered through flowering hawthorn bushes. Above their heads, the nightingales sang a cheerful twittering song. Rosa had a plan. Today she wanted to put everyone in the valley in a really good mood. No one had ever tried anything like this before.

Magic that makes you laugh

Rosa Periwinkle knew many spells, but she thought about how humour magic worked best. She knew that a laugh casts a spell. A smile can banish even the darkest thoughts and bring friends together. That's why she wanted to use her humour magic to celebrate a particularly beautiful festival. The inhabitants of the crystal lake and even the Buchians in the beech forest would be amazed.

The first challenge at the Eulenwarte

At the edge of the forest stood the owl watch. This is a gnarled tree stump on which a family of owls has lived for generations. Today, all the owls were watching side by side, big and small. Rosa Periwinkle greeted them with a cheerful "Good morning!". But the owls looked sleepy. None of them laughed, they all just blinked slowly. So Rosa took out her special ball of humour magic.

She threw the ball into the air and it burst into a hundred tiny, glittering bubbles. Suddenly, colourful paper hats grew from the tips of the owls' wings. One little owl giggled, then everyone laughed. Even the old eagle owl grunted with laughter because the hatband slipped onto his eye. Now the mood at the owl station was cheerful and relaxed.

Humour magic at the Nachtigallenstieg

The path continued along the Nachtigallenstieg. The bushes glowed in May green and gold. The sound of birdsong could be heard everywhere. Rosa Immergrün met the Flossian children there, who did one somersault after another on the path. But none of them managed to stand up straight. That's when Rosa showed what humour magic can do.

She snapped her finger and for a moment everyone had a pair of funny wellies on that squeaked with every step. This caused loud snorting and wild cackling. Anything was possible today, because humour magic unites and brings joy.

A celebration of colour and laughter

In the afternoon, the Periwinkles, the Buchians and the Flossians gathered on the large fern meadow. Together they decorated everything with ribbons in sky blue, ivory and bright gold. Rosa Periwinkle performed one last magic trick. She took out a hat full of sweets and tiny paper frogs. Every time someone grabbed a sweet, a little frog hopped after it and croaked merrily.

Everyone laughed so hard that even the trees shook. The nightingales sang along and the owls from the owlery flapped their wings. The Neflental was full of joy and everyone realised how wonderful it is to laugh together. This is how the magic of humour spreads everywhere and stays in our hearts.

What do we learn from this?

Humour magic creates friendship and courage. Laughter unites the inhabitants of Neflental. Everyone can make others happy by giving the gift of joy. And sometimes all it takes is a funny spell to make all worries vanish. Life is so colourful and happy when you never forget to laugh.
