Feedback loops with human input (Glossary)

(1328)

Feedback loops with human input are particularly relevant in the areas of artificial intelligence, automation, HR work and teams. The term describes a process in which machines, algorithms or digital systems regularly receive feedback from real people. This human feedback helps the systems to improve their performance and adapt specifically to human expectations.

A typical example can be found in customer service: a chatbot answers initial questions from customers. If it is unsure, it passes the conversation on to a human. The employee's answers are later analysed and used to make the chatbot more adaptive. In this way, the system continuously learns to respond better and recognise real needs.

Feedback loops with human input are crucial for ensuring the quality and usability of automated processes. They ensure that technology does not "bypass people" but solves real problems. Especially when introducing artificial intelligence, these loops help to minimise prejudices and build trust in the new technology.
