You can do anything with determination - here's how!

A very special frosty night had dawned in the Neflental valley. From the fern meadows to the peaks, glistening snow lay on the branches. A silver-white glow lay over the valley. Stars twinkled so clearly in the sky that even the outline of the Dragon's Tooth Mountains was visible.

A destination in the frosty night

Rosa Periwinkle wandered through the snow in the middle of the forest. Every step crunched, but she didn't stop. She knew exactly what she wanted. Tonight she wanted to reach the Foxlight Caves, because a special mushroom was supposed to grow there. This mushroom could glow in the dark like a warm, small campfire. And she urgently needed some light for her friends the next day.

The valley was quiet, only a distant, spherical ringing of bells floated through the icy air. Rosa looked around. The trees wore heavy snow hats and their branches sparkled in the hoarfrost, as if someone had hung up little stars. The snow glistened in silver-white and crystal. But Rosa didn't let herself be distracted because she was thinking of her destination.

How determination helps

Sometimes Rosa sank up to her knees in a snowdrift. Sometimes the cold stung her skin. But she told herself: "I won't give up. I can do this!" She took a deep breath and trudged on. Every step brought her closer to the Foxlight Caves. Her thoughts were as clear as the winter night sky.

On the way, she encountered little snowflakes of memories that glowed softly in the light of the full moon. They reminded Rosa of previous adventures. That gave her strength. Rosa knew that if you believe in a goal and keep going, you will get help from memories and friends - even if they are not visible at the moment.

The secret of the foxlight caves

At last, after a long walk, Rosa Periwinkle found the entrance to the Foxlight Caves. Outside, the wind whirled snow across the ground, but inside it was quiet. The soft, mossy floor felt like a carpet. On the walls, tiny mushrooms glowed like little bonfires, bathing the cave in smoky grey and midnight blue light.

Rosa stood there in awe for a moment. She carefully collected some glowing mushrooms. She silently thanked the caves for their gift. Then she made her way home. Now she had light that would warm her friends and brighten up her home.

What do we learn from this?

If you have a goal and difficulties await you, your determination will always help you. If you don't give up and believe in yourself, you will get there. Just like that frosty night in Neflental, you too can achieve what you set out to do. Every step, however small it may be, brings you closer to your goal. And sometimes the most beautiful light shines at the end of the path.
