Fuzzy Logic in AI (Glossary)

Fuzzy logic in AI is part of the world of artificial intelligence, automation and Industry 4.0. This technology helps machines to think in a similar way to humans - not just in black and white, but also in shades of grey. While conventional computers can only distinguish between "yes" and "no", fuzzy logic allows many intermediate levels. For example, a computer can not only say that it is either "hot" or "cold", but also "a little warm".

This is particularly useful in the automation of processes. Imagine an air conditioning system that not only recognises whether the room is too hot or too cold, but can also fine-tune the temperature and react to it more flexibly. Today, fuzzy logic in AI is often used in washing machines, hoovers or industrial robots to control tasks more smartly and efficiently.

In short, fuzzy logic in AI makes it possible for machines to imitate human thought processes and thus make better decisions in complex situations. This helps to optimise processes and make technology more convenient and intelligent for users.
