GAN-supported simulation (Glossary)

The term "GAN-supported simulation" is particularly at home in the fields of artificial intelligence, industry and Factory 4.0 as well as big data and smart data. This is a technology in which so-called Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) are used to create realistic simulations on the computer.

Imagine you work in a factory and want to know how a new machine will affect the production process without actually having to purchase it. A GAN-supported simulation creates virtual models of machines, products or even entire production processes. These simulations are so detailed that companies can use them to test processes, recognise sources of error or save costs - before anything is changed in reality.

Thanks to GAN-supported simulation, large amounts of data from the past or from similar operations are also used to develop ever better and more realistic scenarios. This innovative method helps to make decisions more reliably, speed up development processes and minimise investment risks.
