With patience to the destination in the Neflental
A clear winter morning begins in the Neflental valley. The sun makes the snow on the mountains glisten, and above the crystal ridge everything shines crystal clear, steel grey, sky blue and snow white. Many residents in the village are planning a special hike today. Rosa Periwinkle is very excited because the destination is high up at the Singing Cliffs. She has heard that strange melodies are created there by the wind and sometimes even answers to difficult questions appear.
The path to the Singing Cliffs
Rosa Immergrün packs her small rucksack and sets off. The paths in the Neflental valley are often icy in winter. Deep snowdrifts lurk in some places and sometimes Rosa slips. She realises that it is particularly important not to lose patience today. Other hikers quickly pass her by, but she doesn't mind. She thinks: "Everyone has their own pace. I don't need to run a race today."
Soon Rosa Periwinkle hears the soft whistling of the wind. The closer she gets to the Singing Cliffs, the clearer the sounds become. They are reminiscent of flutes, of songs that someone has long forgotten. Rosa stops, listens carefully and takes time for each individual note. Those who listen with patience are said to understand a lot here.
Patience makes you strong
At the foot of the mighty rock faces, Rosa Periwinkle meets other children. Some of them are restless and scuffle their feet. "Why is it taking so long? Why can't I get an answer?" someone shouts. But Rosa Periwinkle sits down in the snow and closes her eyes. As the wind whirls new sounds between the cliffs, she breathes in and out calmly. Time passes. Her body becomes cold, but she remains calm.
Suddenly, Rosa Periwinkle feels a slight bump. Something warm hits her shoulders. A little friend is now sitting next to her. Together they listen to the wind. And suddenly it seems as if the melody is playing especially for her. She understands now: With patience, you can hear things that others ignore. With patience, you sometimes discover the best answers.
The reward at the crystal ridge
The path from the foot of the Singing Cliffs up to the Crystal Ridge is steep. Icy rocks and snow pile up to form glowing sculptures. You have to walk slowly and carefully here. Rosa Periwinkle trudges step by step through the white. Her hands hurt from the cold. Again she remembers how important patience is. Every step brings her closer to her goal and makes her stronger inside.
Once at the top, the wind is particularly strong. It blows colourful snow crystals into the air. It sparkles and glitters everywhere. Rosa Periwinkle stops and looks around. She has made it because she didn't give up and stayed calm at the right moment. Now she knows that patience helps you stay strong, even when everything seems difficult. The Singing Cliffs tell her a song of courage and perseverance.
What do we learn from this?
In Neflental, Rosa Immergrün shows that patience and calmness make you strong. You don't always have to be the fastest. If you stay calm and go slowly, you will often find the best answers. Even high mountains and cold winters can't stop you. You can achieve a lot if you believe in yourself and listen to your inner voice.
