Generative search is primarily used in the areas of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, eCommerce and digital commerce. It is a modern search technology that works using advanced AI models. While conventional search engines only find existing websites or texts, generative search independently "generates" new, suitable answers to questions or search queries.

Imagine you are looking in an online shop for a gift for a ten-year-old boy who likes to play outside. A conventional search would show you product lists that somehow match the individual terms. Generative search, on the other hand, analyses your query, understands it in context and directly suggests gift ideas that exactly match the age, hobby and occasion. It can even present product combinations or creative suggestions that did not previously appear in any database.

Generative search is changing the way we find information, receive advice and discover products. In digital retail in particular, it makes the shopping experience more personalised and finds individual solutions for customers - almost as if you were using a digital consultant.
