It's cool with humour - A day in the Neflental valley
Spring is slowly arriving in the Neflental valley. The last snow still covers the meadows. But where the sun rises, the light in the Lichtglockental glistens like golden dust. The colours are radiant: white gold, light blue, smoky grey and amber.
Early one morning, Rosa Periwinkle and her friend Finn decide to discover a new path. Today they want to visit a special place in Neflental. They take the narrow path along Moonlight Lane. The path winds its way through the old fern forest. Above their heads, the silver light of the full moon dances in small patches, as if it were playing fireflies.
Humour makes it cool, thinks Rosa Periwinkle as she stumbles over a particularly large fern. Finn giggles. "Are you sure you don't want to be a fern gnome?" he calls out. Rosa Periwinkle giggles back. No one has ever done such an involuntary pirouette in Moonlight Lane before.
They keep walking and Finn and Rosa Periwinkle keep inventing little jokes. They make funny fern hats and caps out of moss. Finn sticks a leaf in his ear and suddenly says in a low voice: "I am the king of light!" Now Rosa Periwinkle has to laugh out loud too. Humour makes it cool, because laughter is contagious. Her laughter soon resounds throughout the valley.
The path leads them deeper into the Lichtglockental valley. There, the last snow glistens like a carpet of golden gemstones. Suddenly they hear a rustling in the undergrowth. A mischievous hare peers out from its hiding place. Rosa Periwinkle laughs: "Do you know what's funny? I think he gets our jokes!" The hare twitches his ears as if he should be grinning too.
They sit down in a sunny clearing. Rosa Periwinkle collects a little of the golden snow. They form little snowballs and throw them at each other. Finn hits Rosa Periwinkle right on the nose. She laughs so hard that she almost falls into the soft snow. "Humour makes it cool!" shouts Rosa Periwinkle and her voice sounds like a song.
After a while, they decide to organise a fun snow competition in the Lichtglockental. Who will build the funniest snowman? Rosa Periwinkle opts for two big ears made of fern. Finn puts huge glasses on his with smoky grey pebbles. Both friends giggle because their snowmen look so crazy.
Laughter makes you light. When worries live in your heart, jokes simply blow them away. They know that even better now. Because just as Finn loses his snowman ear, Rosa Periwinkle falls backwards into the snow laughing. "There was a nose fern!" shouts Finn. And they both burst out laughing again.
As the sun rises higher, the light bell valley sparkles in all colours. Rosa Periwinkle and Finn walk back along the Moonlight Lane path. They know that a day with laughter is twice as nice. And humour makes it cool, because great joy can grow from small mishaps.
What do we learn from this?
It's cool with a sense of humour - making every day in Neflental lighter, happier and more colourful. Laughing chases away the clouds in your head. And in a world full of lights and colours, laughter makes everything a little brighter.
