Why honesty counts in the Neflental
The sun is shining particularly brightly in the Neflental today. It is the height of the glow, the time when the valley shines in warm sunshine gold, sapphire blue, coral red and emerald green. The golden yellow flowers bloom in the Bernblütenhain. Their fragrance is reminiscent of honey and summer rain.
Rosa Periwinkle wanders slowly across the fern meadows. Her heart beats faster with excitement. She has been invited to help with the big summer festival. Many colourful lanterns are already dancing in the evening breeze. The Flossians are practising songs on the banks of the small, glittering lakes. There is humming and laughter everywhere.
A secret in the summer wind
Rosa Periwinkle discovers something shiny in the grass at the edge of the amber blossom grove. She bends down and finds a silver brooch shaped like a flower. This brooch must belong to someone from the festival! Rosa Periwinkle looks around. Should she keep it? The brooch sparkles beautifully in the sunlight.
Rosa Periwinkle hears children's voices. Two friends come running. They are chatting happily until suddenly one of them says quietly: "Oh no, my lucky brooch is gone." The other comforts her with gentle words. Rosa Periwinkle feels a tingling in her stomach. If she were to secretly keep the brooch now, her heart would be heavy.
The decision at Bernblütenhain
Rosa Periwinkle bravely steps out of the golden flower shadow. She calls the two friends to her and holds the brooch out to them. "Look, I've found this brooch. Is it yours?" The girl beams with happiness and gratitude. She takes Rosa Periwinkle in her arms and says: "You're honest - that makes you strong." The other friend nods enthusiastically and adds: "Honesty is like an invisible gemstone in the heart."
The sun is low now. The light dances on the water. The friends sit together on a tree root and eat sweet summer berries. They tell each other stories from the Neflental and laugh together.
How honesty helps new friendships grow
Around the campfire, the other guests tell the story of Rosa Immergrün and the lost brooch. A Buchian says: "Those who are honest go through life more easily." The Bemergsteins agree. They believe that honesty builds trust and helps friendships grow.
The evening ends with twinkling lanterns slowly rising into the night sky. Rosa Periwinkle looks at the lights and feels happy inside. She now knows that being honest makes the heart lighter and life more beautiful. Because only when you are genuine can you really feel happiness.
What do we learn from this?
Sometimes it's not easy to be honest. Perhaps you are afraid or ashamed. But honesty is like a golden flower in the heart. It makes us strong. And it shows others that we are trustworthy. As in the Neflental valley, it leads to friendship, joy and a good feeling that lasts.
