For decades, television was the undisputed number 1 in daily media consumption, and it still is. However, as internet consumption (both mobile and desktop) has increased significantly over the last ten years, it looks like the reign of television may soon be coming to an end.
According to the latest Media consumption forecast by Zenith, the gap in daily consumption, which was 27 minutes last year, could shrink to just 13 minutes this year and disappear completely by 2019. According to the old advertising slogan"Money follows eyeballs", spending on online advertising is also increasing and, according to Zenith, exceeded spending on TV advertising for the first time in 2017.
