Conflicts in the Neflental simply resolved

The flower vigil began in the Neflental valley. Early morning mist hovered on the valley floor, bathing everything in pastel pink, lilac and emerald green. Cherry and violet blossoms shone on old trees. Fine cobwebs glittered like strings of pearls between the shiny dewdrops. During this magical time, the mythical creatures watched quietly between the trunks and observed how every living creature awoke from hibernation.

That morning, Rosa Periwinkle made her way to the crystal lake. A gentle veil of mist lay over the water. The pile dwellings of the Flossians jutted out of the glassy surface like small islands. The colourful mosaics of shells and pearls sparkled even in the morning light. Rosa wanted to visit her friend Lillifloss to marvel at the first blossoms together.

A problem at the lake

When Rosa arrived on the shore, she heard loud voices. Two Flossians, Toti and Finn, were arguing violently in front of her pile dwelling door. Toti was holding a large shell in his hand, but Finn wanted to take it away from him. They both pulled at the shell and stamped their feet. "I saw the shell first!" shouted Toti. Finn scolded: "But you know that my collection still needs this one!"

Even the mosaics on the houses seemed to lose their colours, the quarrel looked so sad. Rosa saw that other Flossians were also standing still. No one knew how to settle the dispute.

How Rosa Immergrün resolves conflicts

Rosa took a deep breath. The cool air was filled with the scent of cherry blossom. She walked slowly between Toti and Finn. In a calm voice, she asked them both to stop. "Wait, let's not argue. Let's talk and find a solution you're both happy with." The two Flossians paused, for no one could speak as kindly as Rosa Periwinkle.

"Why is the shell so important to you?" Rosa asked Toti. Toti looked down at his feet, embarrassed. "Like my favourite colour, it's glitter magic. I wanted it for my mosaic wall on the house." Rosa nodded. "And why do you need it, Finn?" Finn sighed. "It's the last one I need to complete my collection. Then I can show everything to the others."

Strong together in the Neflental

Rosa thought about it for a moment. Then she suggested: "What do you think about putting the shell in Finn's collection first? Then it can go on Toti's wall. And the two of you can collect a new mosaic together from the most beautiful shells. This will create a special work of art that everyone will enjoy."

Finn and Toti looked at each other. They were sceptical at first, but they sensed that Rosa was right. If they co-operated, they would both gain something. Rosa showed them that listening is important. That's how friends understand what moves the other. Toti smiled cautiously. Finn held out his hand and they both laughed. The argument was over!

Tips for good cohesion in the Neflental

In the soft morning light, while the first rays of sunlight fell on the pile dwellings, Rosa told the others an important thing: "If there's trouble, let's talk together. Questions help more than shouting. If everyone tells how they feel, we can find a solution. And if we work together in the end, we'll be stronger than if we work alone."

The Flossians were happy. They marvelled at the new shell mosaic that Toti and Finn soon created together. It told of friendship, solidarity and the courage to take the first step to end an argument.

What do we learn from this?

Even in Neflental there are sometimes arguments. But if you listen, ask questions and think together, you will find the best way. You can resolve conflicts yourselves if you are open and don't exclude anyone. This is how friendships grow. A friendly word can change a lot and turns every argument into a whole new story.
