With patience to the destination in the Neflental

There is a special place in the heart of the Neflental: the fern meadows of Immergrün. Many green houses grow here between giant bracken ferns. Sometimes they sparkle like tiny gemstones in the morning dew. At this time of year, the Neflental valley is on flower watch. The entire valley floor is still shrouded in mist, while pastel pink cherry and lilac-coloured violet blossoms awaken on the gnarled trees. Fine cobwebs glisten everywhere in the pearly white dew. The mythical creatures creep quietly through the grass and everything looks mysterious.

A long morning on the fern meadows of Immergrün

One particular morning, Rosa Periwinkle wanted to be the first to collect the fresh cherry blossoms. Because all the periwinkles were waiting for the cherry blossom tea, which only tastes good during the blossom vigil. Rosa had sneaked out of her house early. It was quiet everywhere and only a quiet whisper went through the valley. The houses of the Immergrüns shimmered between the fern stalks like little colourful clouds of emerald green and pastel pink.

On her way to the trees, Rosa Periwinkle passed John Periwinkle's house. She waved briefly and crept on. From the roof terrace of the house, she could see the glittering lake of the Flossians. It still lay still in the dawn, only a few droplets of water slid down from the fern leaves into the water. Everything was peaceful, but Rosa was impatient. "I wonder when most of the flowers will finally open?" she pondered. She really wanted to pick the most beautiful bouquet for the big flower party today!

Showing patience is sometimes difficult

Rosa Periwinkle hopped from one leg to the other and kept looking at the delicate blossoms. Some were still tightly closed. The first rays of sunlight gradually awakened them. But it took time! She wanted to pull on the flowers to make it go faster. "Why does everything take so long?" she sighed softly.

Then John Periwinkle came over and laughed. "Patience is the key, Rosa! The best things take time. Watch the flowers slowly open. Then you'll feel the joy twice as much!" Rosa nodded, although it was difficult for her. So she sat down under the mossy branches and waited. She kept looking at the shimmering colours and breathed in the sweet scent of the flowers.

Achieving your goal with patience - and great joy

After quite a while, the cherry blossoms finally opened wide. They looked magical and beautiful in the pastel pink mist. Rosa Immergrün carefully picked the most beautiful blossoms together with her friends. Now the time had finally come - waiting turned into joy! She felt how proud she was to have remained patient.

Together, they brought the flowers back to Immergrün's fern meadows. Here they prepared a delicious tea for everyone. As they laughed together, they realised that time and patience are worthwhile. Those who wait and remain friendly often experience the most beautiful moments much more intensely. The flower watch in the Neflental valley was particularly bright today. Rosa Immergrün now knew: Those who reach their goal with patience enjoy the result all the more!

What do we learn from this?

Achieving your goal with patience means that it's not a bad thing if something takes a while. Sometimes the best things in life are not finished immediately. If you wait and remain friendly, you can look forward to the result. Patience makes you strong and helps you to make even everyday life more colourful. And like Rosa Periwinkle, you might suddenly see completely new beautiful things and be even happier about them later!
