Maintenance-friendly robotics is particularly at home in the fields of Industry and Factory 4.0, robots and automation. It describes robot systems that are designed in such a way that their maintenance and repair can be carried out as easily and quickly as possible. The aim is to minimise downtime and increase productivity.

Easily accessible components, modular designs and easy-to-understand user interfaces are at the centre of maintenance-friendly robotics. This allows technicians and specialists to react quickly in the event of faults, without the need for time-consuming disassembly or specialised knowledge. There are often also digital instructions or sensors that indicate the need for maintenance at an early stage.

An illustrative example: In a modern car factory, robotic arms are used on the assembly lines. They are designed in such a way that a worn joint can be replaced by a maintenance technician in a few simple steps without having to dismantle the entire robot. This allows production to continue almost without interruption.

Maintenance-friendly robotics is therefore a real plus point for any company that favours modern automation and reliability.
