In Neflental, the day in spring always begins with special colours. Today, a veil of mist hovers over the flower watch. In the delicate dawn, the animals are silent as fine cobwebs glisten in pearls of dew. Cherry and violet blossoms awaken on old, mossy trees and glow in pastel pink, lilac, emerald green and pearly white. Pink periwinkle is already on its way with its friends.

Everyone wants to go to the maple firelight. Because the new season conjures up a special light there: the maple trees blaze in red and orange. They glow like flames and warm the heart.

With consideration through the dawn

Rosa Periwinkle leads her friends safely across the damp valley floor. It is quiet as fine cobwebs cross the path. She says: "Watch out for the little flowers under your feet! We don't want to trample anything." Everyone looks closely. One of her friends is about to jump, but Rosa Periwinkle holds him back. He smiles and says: "Thank you, I almost hurt the young violets!"

The group walks on and discovers purple shadows at the edge of the path. They are shy mythical creatures searching for colourful cherry blossoms in the morning dew. Rosa Periwinkle doesn't want to scare them away. So she asks her friends to stand still for a while. The creatures scurry past carefully - no one bothers them.

Dispute at the edge of the forest? With consideration to the solution

Two friends clash at the edge of the maple glade. They both want to see the best spot quickly. One says: "I got there first!" The other shouts: "But I ran faster!" Now the mood is getting worse. But Rosa Periwinkle remains friendly. "If you listen to each other, we'll find a place for everyone!" suggests Rosa Periwinkle.

The friends pause for a moment. Then one sits down in the golden moss. The other waits and stands patiently. So everyone can see the sheaves of fire on the maple trees. And no one feels left out. Sometimes it is enough to wait and listen.

Marvel at the colours of autumn together

Soon everyone gathers under the flickering canopy of leaves. The light dances on their faces. The friends stay close together. A soft wind plays gently with the orange-coloured leaves. Rosa Periwinkle conjures up a small picnic for the group from a few branches and moss. Everyone gets a piece. Nobody takes more than they need. Nobody pushes to the front. They laugh together because sharing is fun.

A friend whispers: "It's a good thing you were paying attention, Rosa Periwinkle. Without you, we might have argued or destroyed something." But Rosa Periwinkle says: "We can only do this because everyone is considerate. That's the only way we can enjoy the colourful wonder of the maple glade."
