One of the golden rules of advertising is that money follows eyeballs. And since people are almost always looking at their smartphones these days, it's no surprise that advertising budgets are also shifting to mobile devices.
According to the latest global advertising forecast by Zenith, advertisers will spend an additional 72.6 billion dollars per year on mobile advertising in 2020 compared to last year. After overtaking desktop advertising last year, mobile devices are now the second largest advertising medium worldwide, after television. Spending on mobile advertising is expected to reach $180bn in 2020, almost double the estimated total spend on desktop advertising ($94bn).
