How to become a learning champion in Neflental
In the Neflental valley, the day awoke in delicate ivory and May green. The sky glowed a mild blue and a hint of gold was reflected in the fern meadows. Rosa Immergrün strolled along the winding nightingale path in the early morning. The voices of the nightingales could be heard among the blossoming hawthorn bushes. Rosa listened as they shared their cheerful twittering and felt ready to learn something new today.
A willingness to learn starts with curiosity
The day before, the teacher of Neflental had announced that a great knowledge festival would be held on the hill, where the fir trees would glow a deep red in the evening. The animals, the evergreens and even the white elves were invited. But anyone who wanted to take part had to learn a new skill in the afternoon. Rosa Periwinkle was excited and a little nervous because she didn't know if she could do it. But she wanted to try. Curious, she asked her friend Luna: "What are you going to learn?" Luna replied that she wanted to practise drawing flowers. Suddenly Rosa realised that curiosity was the main thing that helped her learn.
How to become a learning champion with friends
Together with Luna, Rosa sat down under the tall fir trees. They tickled a little while they thought about what they wanted to try. Rosa decided to trace the nightingale songs and play the melodies on her little meadow flute. She knew it could be tricky, but she wanted to do her best. She listened carefully to the small differences in the chirping of the birds. She tried again and again, playing new notes, sometimes it worked, sometimes not. But she never gave up and laughed when things went wrong. This turned learning into an adventure and she had a lot of fun.
Trial and error is important when learning
At midday, the two continued on their way. They met the old jay, who gave them some advice. "Making mistakes means you dare to do something," he said quietly. Rosa and Luna nodded and continued practising bravely. The colours around them became more and more vivid: the May green of the meadows, the sky blue between the fir tree tops and the shining gold that flashed through the branches made the atmosphere special. As they practised, they realised that they could help each other. Luna showed Rosa how she could finger a difficult part of the melody more easily, and Rosa suggested they paint a song together. In this way, they learnt from each other. They realised that you can often get further together than alone.
Keep at it and celebrate together
As the sun slowly sank, they climbed the Tannenglutkuppe hill. The fir trees were now glowing red like fire. The knowledge festival began! Many Neflentalers showed what they had learnt. Rosa Periwinkle proudly played the melody she had admired so much in the morning. Her heart leapt for joy. Everyone clapped enthusiastically. It wasn't a competition, but a celebration of trying things out and sticking with it. Rosa felt that learning is most fun when you stay curious, dare to make mistakes and practise together with friends.
What do we learn from this?
You will become a learning champion if you remain open to new things and keep improving through trial and error. It's good to have friends and stick with something together. Mistakes are also part of it, because they make you brave and help you move forward. The Neflental and its inhabitants show you: with joy, courage and solidarity, every learning journey becomes an adventure.
