Continuous online learning (Glossary)

(1052)

The term online continuous learning is particularly at home in the fields of artificial intelligence, digital transformation and HR work and teams. Here, it describes how people or computer programmes constantly absorb and apply new knowledge online. In contrast to traditional learning, which has fixed course times and finalisations, online continuous learning takes place on an ongoing and flexible basis.

One example: New software tools are regularly introduced in a company. Employees not only receive training at the beginning, but also continue to learn online. They receive short videos or quizzes via platforms or learning apps that help them when they need to solve a new task in their day-to-day work. This ensures that everyone is always up to date and can apply their knowledge in practice.

Modern AI systems also utilise online continuous learning. They are constantly improving thanks to the data they collect during daily operation, making them ever more accurate or faster.

Thanks to continuous online learning, companies can react flexibly to changes, increase their innovative strength and optimise employee development - this is a major advantage, especially in times of rapid digital change.
