Fairness counts in the Neflental

A new day begins in Neflental. The time of the flower vigil has arrived. Mist floats across the valley floor and shimmers in pink and lilac. The mossy trees stretch their branches, on which cherry and violet blossoms shine like little lights. Fine, dewy cobwebs glisten in the grass. Shadowy mythical creatures slip between the blossoms and make the morning seem even more mysterious. Everyone in the Neflental valley slowly wakes up and welcomes this special day.

A problem during the flower watch

Rosa Periwinkle runs across the fern meadow. Today she wants to prepare a big picnic for her friends. The blossom watch is the most beautiful time because pollen is dancing through the air everywhere. But when Rosa gets to her hiding place, she realises that the treats have disappeared! Someone was quicker and took everything. The friends from all parts of the valley are now sitting there: Buchians, Flossians and even a brave Bergstein. They look at Rosa and are as hungry as she is.

Rosa Immergrün is looking for a solution

Rosa quickly realises that dissatisfaction is spreading among her friends. Some murmur that the other has eaten or collected more. An argument ensues. Rosa doesn't want that. She suggests that they think together first. "If we treat each other fairly, no belly will be empty. Shall we try it together?" she asks.

Everyone sits down in the dewy grass. The sound stone shimmers through the fine mist. The black monolith rises silently from the ground. "Let's ask the sound stone for advice," calls Rosa. At that moment, she beckons her friends to follow her.

You can feel fairness at the sound stone

The group stands around the dark monolith. As soon as they touch it, it begins to hum deeply and soothingly. The humming penetrates their hearts. Suddenly no one feels disadvantaged any more. Everyone realises that fairness makes life better together. Rosa suggests: "We just share what everyone has left. Then everyone gets something." The friends keep looking. They find blackberries in the ferns, juicy flowers by the stream and crunchy nuts under the glittering trees.

Together they put everything on a large sheet of paper. Rosa helps to divide the treats equally. It's not difficult at all if everyone works together and thinks of each other. Everyone gets just as much as the others. No one goes hungry and everyone is happy with their slice of blossom happiness.

The flower vigil

The friends celebrate their fair picnic in the mist of the flower guard. The pastel colours of the flowers are reflected in their cheerful faces. The mythical creatures dance around. The sound stone continues to hum softly. Soon everyone is laughing and playing together. Because fairness counts, everyone has fun - and that makes this day unforgettable.

What do we learn from this?

If we are fair and share, nobody feels excluded. Fairness makes all friends happy. Everyone in Neflental now knows how nice it is to live together fairly. And every time the mist rises at dawn and the sound stone starts humming, the friends remember this. Because fairness counts - always and everywhere.
