Fairness in Neflental - The story of Rosa Immergrün and the divided flowers

Spring has arrived in the Neflental and the colours are shining everywhere. Today the sun is shining particularly warmly on the Bernblütenhain. The whole grove glows golden yellow and the scent is reminiscent of honey and fresh summer rain. Rosa Periwinkle loves this place because it gives her a sense of security and she often meets her friends here.

Bernblütenhain: A special meeting place

Rosa Periwinkle is already waiting eagerly at the edge of the Bernblütenhain. Her friends are about to arrive: Tammo Buchian from the Beech Forest, Mino Flossian from the Crystal Lake and Lira Bergstein from the Edelberg. They want to go on a trip to the violet glade together. But first they want to play games in the grove and collect golden amber blossoms.

Dispute over the Bern blossoms

The golden flowers are beautiful and smell sweet. Everyone wants to pick as many as possible because the flowers shimmer in the sunlight and are supposed to be little lucky charms. Tammo catches most of them and hides them behind his back. Mino also wants a few and Lira is determined to have the most beautiful flower. A little tussle begins.

Rosa Periwinkle sees how the dispute is growing. Mino feels unfairly treated because Tammo takes all the big flowers. Lira is sad because she gets nothing. Suddenly it's no longer fun being together. Tammo realises that the others are getting angry.

The invitation to the violet glade

Then Rosa Periwinkle has an idea. She says: "Come with me! There's a colourful carpet of flowers for everyone in the violet glade." The four friends set off together. They reach the hidden clearing, which is covered in violets, crocuses and fresh green leaves. In the centre stands an old statue, covered in soft moss. Small rays of sunlight shine in its eyes and make everything seem magical.

Rosa places the collected amber blossoms here. She asks the others: "How can we share them so that everyone is happy?" Tammo thinks about it. "We could count each blossom and distribute them fairly! Everyone gets the same number." Mino nods in agreement. Lira beams and helps with the counting. Together, they manage to divide the flowers fairly between them. Everyone gets the same number, and they place the most beautiful centre flower in front of the statue in the clearing so that the animals and plants of Neflen Valley can also enjoy it.

Friendship through fairness

Everyone realises how nice it feels when no one is sad and everyone gets what they deserve. They laugh, jump and play together among the purple and sunny yellow of the violets. Finally, they sit down side by side on the soft moss. Rosa suggests: "Let's always be fair to each other! Then every friend will feel really good." The others agree. Because they have shared fairly, they have remained best friends.

What do we learn from this?

Fairness is like rays of sunshine that touch everyone equally warmly. Genuine friendship grows when we share and are fair. This is the only way to build a strong sense of togetherness - whether in Neflental or at home.
