Robot-assisted precision agriculture is primarily part of the areas of automation, robots and sustainability and Environment 4.0.

In robot-assisted precision agriculture, various agricultural tasks, such as planting, tending and harvesting crops, are carried out by intelligent machines. These robots often work independently and are equipped with sensors, cameras and GPS systems. This enables them to measure fields very precisely, treat individual plants in a targeted manner and apply fertiliser or water exactly where it is needed.

A tangible example: instead of fertilising an entire field across the board, an agricultural robot uses sensors to recognise which plant needs a top-up and only applies a little fertiliser to that area. This saves resources, protects the environment and increases crop yields.

Thanks to automation, farmers can farm more efficiently, more environmentally friendly and more sustainably. Robot-assisted precision agriculture helps to feed the world's growing population without unnecessarily harming the environment.
