Curiosity in Neflental - A special adventure

There are many mysterious places in the Neflental valley. One of them is Klangstein, a single black monolith that rests in the middle of a clearing. When you touch it, you hear a deep, vibrating hum. Nobody in the valley knows exactly why this is so. Some say it is magical. Others think it is guarding a great secret.

On a warm summer evening, when the whole valley was glowing in the colours ruby red, emerald, sunshine yellow and night blue, Rosa Periwinkle passed the lantern grove. Here, colourful lanterns hung between the tall, dark cedars. They swayed gently in the balmy evening breeze. People in festive dresses sat under the trees and drank sweet nectar. Rosa heard their cheerful voices and the soft clinking of glasses.

But that day she felt a tingling in her stomach. She was curious. Why was the sound stone emitting this mysterious humming sound? No one had ever dared to go there after sunset. People said that the stone hummed even louder and deeper at night. Others even said it could hear wishes.

How curiosity grows

Rosa Periwinkle didn't think twice. She said goodbye to her friends at the lantern grove. With a small piece of sweet nectar in her pocket, she walked through the meadows and woods. The lanterns cast colourful points of light in her path. The crickets chirped. The stars began to twinkle.

The closer Rosa got to the sound stone, the more excited she felt. She was a little scared, but she was also determined. Her curiosity was now stronger than her fear. What if she discovered something great? What if the stone whispered a secret to her?

The courageous step towards the sound stone

Suddenly it was there. The black monolith loomed darkly out of the emerald green grass. The moon shone through the branches. Rosa could hear the low humming from afar. It sounded like a song coming from deep within the earth.

She stepped closer. Her heart was beating wildly. She carefully placed a hand on the sound stone. The next moment, a soft tingling sensation ran through her, almost like little ants. The humming grew stronger. Rosa listened. For a tiny moment, she had the feeling that she was listening to a melody - a melody that spoke of courage, friendship and the beauty of the world. She felt joy and warmth in her heart.

Curiosity makes you strong and courageous

The next morning, Rosa told her friends about the adventure. The others were surprised. Many of them wouldn't have dared. But Rosa explained: "I was a bit scared, but my curiosity was greater. I wanted to find out for myself what the sound stone was all about."

Everyone realised that curiosity makes you strong and courageous. Because then you dare to do things that you wouldn't otherwise dare to do. Because you want to learn and grow. And because you can encourage others through your questions and adventures.

A festival in the lantern grove

That evening, the friends celebrated again in the lantern grove. They drank sweet nectar under the colourful lanterns. They laughed together and told each other stories. Lanterns in ruby red, emerald, sunny yellow and midnight blue shone cheerfully among the cedars.

Everyone had become a little more curious at heart. They now knew that with open eyes and a courageous heart, you can discover many wonderful things. And that curiosity gives you the strength to explore the unknown.

What do we learn from this?

When you are curious and ask questions, you become stronger and braver. You explore new paths, discover small and big wonders and make your life more colourful. Just like Rosa Immergrün learnt in the Neflental: if you stay curious, you will experience a new adventure every day.
