Sensor technology is particularly at home in the fields of automation, industry and Factory 4.0 as well as the Internet of Things. Sensor technology refers to all technologies and devices that record data from their environment, such as temperature, light, movement or pressure.

Sensors are the "sensory organs" of modern machines and systems. They perceive information and pass it on so that machines can react or processes can be controlled automatically. Sensor technology therefore forms the basis for intelligent, networked processes.

An illustrative example: In a modern production hall, sensor technology ensures that robot arms automatically recognise whether a workpiece is positioned correctly. If a deviation is detected, the machine can stop or correct production without the need for human intervention. This saves time, costs and prevents errors.

Sensor technology is therefore the key to greater efficiency and quality in modern industry. By recording and evaluating sensor data, companies can react more quickly to changes and continuously optimise their processes. Especially in conjunction with digitalisation and automation, sensor technology is becoming increasingly important for sustainable companies.
