Compassion makes you strong in everyday life - a story from the Neflental valley
It was a glorious high in Neflental. The sun glittered like a treasure in the sky and its rays painted patterns in gold, sapphire blue, coral red and emerald green on the meadows and water. On the banks of the crystal lake, the inhabitants celebrated together. Small fires burned everywhere, children laughed and lanterns danced softly in the warm twilight.
A day full of colour at the Bay of Water Lilies
The bay of water lilies was close by. A quiet corner, covered with round, green leaves and delicate white flowers. Colourful fish quietly made their way under the leaves and dragonflies with shiny wings danced through the summer air.
On this particular day, Rosa Periwinkle wandered happily to Water Lily Bay. The sunlight sparkled on the water, and in the distance Rosa could hear the laughter of the others. But suddenly Rosa spotted a little Flossian sitting sadly on a stone at the edge of the bay. His feet dangled in the water and his shoulders sagged limply.
What happened?
Rosa stepped closer and gently asked if everything was all right. The Flossian sighed and said that no one had invited him to take part in the big swimming game at the celebrations. Rosa immediately felt sympathy. Rosa sat down next to the Flossian and wondered how he must be feeling now.
"Maybe it wasn't intentional," Rosa said carefully. "Sometimes others forget how important it is to be nicer to each other."
Rosa stayed seated, laughed and told the Flossian stories about funny adventures at the Bay of Water Lilies. The dragonflies danced in the light and the Flossian's face gradually brightened.
Compassion makes friends
At the fireplace, the others realise that Rosa and the Flossian are missing. A few children got into their small boats and rowed to the bay. When they got there, Rosa and the Flossian were already playing with the dragonflies.
"Come and play with us!" shouted Rosa cheerfully and beckoned the others over. Everyone immediately jumped into the water, laughing and splashing around. No one was left out and the friendship continued to grow in the warm sunlight.
A new swimming game was created on this glamour high, in which everyone took part. The Flossian also felt strong and cheerful. The joy was contagious because someone listened with compassion, understood and gave friendship.
Why being nice makes you strong
Rosa showed everyone. Compassion doesn't make you weak, it connects you. It ensures that no one remains alone. Being kind encourages others and makes them smile. This creates genuine friendships that strengthen every heart.
In the soft glow of the setting sun, the friends vow to always be there for each other. The lanterns glow brightly and the laughter echoes long after in the bay of water lilies.
What do we learn from this?
Being nice is cool and makes you strong. Compassion makes everyone feel good. It helps you make new friends and celebrate a happy glamour high together. So - listen, share your time and be kind. You'll see how beautiful life is in Neflental when everyone has a big heart!
