Situation-aware robotics is a term that plays an important role, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence, automation and robots. It describes robots that do not simply execute commands, but are able to recognise and understand their environment. This makes them much more flexible and safer to use.

An illustrative example: In a modern factory, a robot arm does not just move along a predefined path. Instead, it registers whether a person or an obstacle suddenly appears. Thanks to situation-aware robotics, the robot can then automatically slow down, stop or even choose a new path without causing any danger to employees or production.
