Pride in performance: the story from the Neflental valley

The Neflental valley was finally at its peak. The sun danced across the wide summer plateau with its rays of light. The colours shone in sun gold, sapphire blue, coral red and emerald green. Crystal-clear rivers glistened like dancing sparks of fire, while on the banks many revellers sat around campfires. Lanterns floated above the twilight. It was the most beautiful time of the year. In the middle of the Neflental valley lay the Löwenmaull glade, a sunny meadow full of golden yellow flowers. Their buds looked like little animal heads.

A special day at the glamour high

On this day, Rosa Immergrün wanted to do something particularly brave. She had been watching the colourful lanterns fluttering between the treetops in the evening for a long time. Everyone said it would be difficult to make her own lantern, which would later be allowed to rise into the golden twilight at the Festival of Sparks. But Rosa Periwinkle was curious and really wanted to learn. She wanted to be proud of her achievement.

She collected golden snapdragons and delicate silk leaves from the shore. Of course, it wasn't easy - some of the leaves tore and sometimes she couldn't think of anything. But she didn't give up, even though the sun was already high and the other children were already splashing around by the river. She remembered the wise words of the white elves in Neflental: If you believe in yourself, you can work small miracles. Rosa Periwinkle kept trying, folding and knotting until something of her own slowly emerged from the flowers and leaves.

Pride through own performance

When the glorious high had reached its peak, Rosa Periwinkle brought her homemade lantern to the lion's mouth glade. The golden yellow flowers sparkled in the light. Many looked on in admiration because they had realised how much effort Rosa Immergrün had put into it. Even though some of the lanterns were more colourful or larger, her lantern was the longest and shone like a little star above their heads.

The other children ran to Rosa Periwinkle and wanted to know how she had created this light. She patiently explained every step. In the end, everyone tried to make lanterns out of their own flowers and leaves. Soon there were so many lights dancing above the lion's mouth glade that the summer evening felt even brighter. Everyone was proud of what they had created.

Becoming an everyday hero in the Neflental

In Neflental, it's not just the great adventurers who are real heroes. Sometimes you are one just by believing in yourself and trying new things. Just like Rosa Immergrün, who built her lantern despite all the difficulties. Courage often simply means not giving up and trusting yourself. Perhaps you are already an everyday hero when you comfort a friend or try something new.

The glow of summer lingered over the lion's mouth glade for a long time. Rosa Periwinkle and her friends laughed, danced around the fires and held their lanterns tightly in their hands. And every time a light hovered particularly high above the valley, they knew they were in for a treat: You can be proud of your achievement, no matter how small the start. Together they celebrated the glittering night and their own small successes.

What do we learn from this?

In Neflental, Rosa Immergrün shows us that anyone with courage and perseverance can accomplish their own heroic deeds. It doesn't matter whether others are better or faster. The important thing is to try and be proud of yourself. So every day becomes a little adventure, because everyday heroes live in all of us.
