Your self-confidence grows every day with these tips - A story from the Neflental valley
Spring had come to the Neflental. Dewdrops glistened above the fern meadows and silver dots of light danced on the mossy ground in the silver moss grove. Rosa Periwinkle skipped happily through the soft moss. She wanted to visit her best friend today, but she felt unsure. Her heart beat a little faster.
Willow branches hung from the small pond like green curtains down into the water. The moss on the ground glowed silvery. Lovely moss nymphs flitted back and forth between the roots, looked at Rosa Periwinkle and whispered softly to each other. The day was mild, the wind light.
Taking the first step
Rosa Periwinkle stood at the edge of the silver moss grove. She knew that her friend was waiting in the violet glade. But one thought was bothering her: What if she did something wrong? But she remembered an important tip she had learnt in Neflental. To grow in self-confidence, you should simply take the first step. So Rosa Periwinkle took a deep breath, bravely set off and said quietly to herself: "Today I dare."
Get help
On the way to the violet glade, Rosa Periwinkle heard a rustling in the moss. Suddenly she stopped and felt a little alone. A little moss nymph came out of her hiding place. She looked kindly at Rosa Periwinkle and asked: "Do you need help?" Rosa Periwinkle nodded, because she had lost her way. Together they found the right path. This made her realise another tip: asking for help shows strength. Because nobody can do everything alone.
Discover your own strengths
The violet glade soon opened up in front of them. Colourful crocuses, yellow sunbeams and green grass painted a magnificent picture. In the centre stood a stone statue covered in moss. The statue's eyes sparkled in the light. Rosa Periwinkle stood in front of it and said to herself: "Everyone has special strengths." She thought of the tips she had gathered from friends and the wise Buchians. She was good at being attentive and encouraging others when they were sad. Every time she thought about it, her courage grew.
Accept your own feelings
The warm rays of sunshine made the violets blossom in bright colours. Rosa Periwinkle felt that she was sometimes nervous or afraid. However, she learnt to allow these feelings. Because fear is also part of her. She learnt to accept herself and treat herself with love. Her self-confidence grew slowly, day by day, like the colourful flowers in the clearing.
Try something new
Rosa Periwinkle discovered a purple flowerbed at the edge of the violet glade that she had never set foot in before. She pondered. Should she try a new adventure? She remembered another tip from Neflental: always try something new! She took a few steps towards the crocuses. The grass was ticklish and full of life, but she felt brave. She laughed because it was so nice to try something she had never done before.
Friendship makes you strong
Her friend was already waiting in the centre of the clearing. They looked at the statue together, played in the grass and talked about their experiences. Rosa Periwinkle realised that many things are easier with friends by your side. Because friendship gives you strength, and together your self-confidence grows even faster.
What do we learn from this?
If you try out your courage like Rosa Periwinkle, trust others and discover your strengths, you can grow a little every day. Sometimes it takes many small steps. But with each day, you will become more confident and your heart will grow stronger. Don't forget: you are special too and should be proud of yourself!
