Superpower self-control in the Neflental valley
In the Neflental, every day begins with a special magic. Today, everything seems even more mysterious because the blossom watch has the valley firmly in its grip. Thick early morning mist lies on the ground and makes the air cool and soft. Bright cherry and violet blossoms bloom on the trees. Fine cobwebs glisten in the dew everywhere. Even small, shimmering mythical creatures flit between the trees as if they were from another world.
Pink evergreen sets off
Rosa Periwinkle stands in a clearing and breathes in the fresh air. Today she wants to go to the maple glade. She has often heard that the trees there glow so beautifully like flames in autumn. The red and orange of the maple leaves can almost light up the whole valley because they glow so brightly. She is curious to see what it looks like there and sets off straight away.
She meets many friends on the way there. Some are friendly, others are a little gruff today. But Rosa Periwinkle doesn't let this upset her. She knows that sometimes it is better to stay calm, even if others are perhaps grumpy.
How pink periwinkle stays cool
Suddenly she hears a loud rumble. Two little Flossians are arguing at the edge of a stream. They are shouting and gesticulating with their arms because they both want to find the same shiny maple bark. Rosa Periwinkle stops and takes a deep breath. She realises that she can help now if she remains calm and balanced.
She speaks to the Flossians in a low voice and asks them to be quiet for a moment. She suggests that they can both take turns using the bark. The Flossians nod and calm down. The arguing stops because someone is there to use their superpower of self-control. Rosa Periwinkle realises that staying cool often helps everyone to get along again.
The colourful maple firelight
After the short break, Rosa Periwinkle continues on her way. As she walks through the last puff of mist, she finally sees the maple glade in front of her. The trees are indeed glowing in every shade of orange there is. The leaves look as if flames are enchanting the forest. Pink evergreens settle into the soft grass, still wet with dewdrops.
Everything is peaceful here. Many animals move quietly through the red-golden light. Some periwinkle friends also pass by. They tell stories and laugh together. Sometimes a cheeky fox ventures out of the bushes, but someone always remains calm - no matter what happens.
How anyone can learn self-control
Rosa Immergrün knows that it's not always easy to stay calm. Everyone has a bad day. When she realises that her courage or patience is waning, she slowly counts to ten. She thinks of the play of colours in the maple glade because it helps her to relax. She often imagines how the blossoms of the cherry and violet trees in the valley slowly awaken. These images give her strength.
She soon makes her way back home. She meets old Buchians collecting mushrooms at the edge of the forest and little mythical creatures playing in the light. She smiles at everyone and feels strong because she knows that her superpower of self-control will help her and the others.
What do we learn from this?
In Neflental, the colours show how wonderful every day can be. Everyone realises that it is good to stay calm, even if it is sometimes difficult. With self-control and kind thoughts, many problems can be solved. Everyone has this superpower within them. You just have to think about the beautiful things in the valley and take a deep breath. Then your heart will remain as calm as the flower vigil in the early morning.
