Self-control in the Neflental: Rosa Immergrün and the adventure in the water lily bay
The Neflental valley was at its peak, the most beautiful time of the year. The sun cast golden, amber-coloured rays over the entire valley, and water reflected the bright light everywhere. Many Neflental inhabitants celebrated joyful festivities on the banks of the crystal lake. In the evening, colourful lanterns floated silently over the water. Revellers laughed, sang and enjoyed the warm summer weather.
While everyone gathered around the campfire, Rosa Periwinkle wandered to the water lily bay. This place was magical: dragonflies with iridescent wings glided over the water. The round leaves of the water lilies swayed gently in the small waves, and brightly coloured fish flitted below. The golden sunlight played in the water and made it glow like dancing sparks. Rosa always liked to come here when she wanted to think.
The feeling when everything is too much
Rosa met some friends on the shore. She was in a good mood, but when one of them accidentally splashed her clumsily with water, she suddenly felt angry inside. Her heart was beating fast and she wanted to shout at the top of her voice. But Rosa remembered an important piece of advice that someone had given her in Neflental: if you want to stay cool, you have to learn to control yourself.
Rosa found it difficult at first. She didn't want to shout or walk out of the lily pad with her arms crossed. The colourful dragonflies buzzed past her and she thought: What to do when trouble is brewing?
Cool tricks for self-control - so you stay calm!
Rosa took a deep breath and looked out over the calm waters of Water Lily Bay. The fresh summer air tickled her nose and the golden light enveloped her like a warm blanket. Breathing consciously, she felt the anger slowly diminish.
She quietly counted her favourite colours in the glossy high: the sun gold, the sapphire blue, the coral red and the emerald green of the plants. She redirected her thoughts and slowly relaxed again. Her friend now realised it was an oversight and apologised. Rosa smiled. She could laugh again instead of letting herself be carried away by anger.
On this day, Rosa experienced first-hand how important self-control is. Because she didn't explode immediately but remained calm, she was able to enjoy the wonderful moment with her friends. She was proud to become a real coolness champion.
Self-control makes you strong and happy in Neflental
Things happen all the time in the Neflental that cause stress. But those who learn to remain calm and react in a friendly manner have a clear advantage. Rosa realised that self-control doesn't mean hiding your feelings. It means dealing with them wisely and giving others the chance to make up for mistakes.
As the campfire crackled in the evening and the lanterns rose into the summer sky, Rosa told her friends how she had conquered her anger in Water Lily Bay. Everyone listened intently and decided to breathe first next time and think of the beautiful light. And so the glamorous high time became a celebration of friendship and togetherness.
What do we learn from this?
In Neflental, Rosa shows us that self-control makes us bigger than any problem. Staying calm and friendly wins friends and shows real coolness. Everyone can practise managing their emotions in a friendly way - that alone makes life in the summer light of the Neflental even more beautiful. And if you get angry: take a deep breath, look around you and decide how you want to react. Then you'll become a real coolness champion!
