Synchronised sensor networks are primarily used in the areas of the Internet of Things, automation and industry and Factory 4.0. They refer to a group of sensors that are connected to each other and synchronise their measured values in real time. This means that all sensors record data at the same time and exchange it with each other to create an accurate overall picture.

A typical example is a modern production line in a factory. Here, many sensors simultaneously monitor the temperature, pressure or speed of machines. If one sensor detects a deviation, the other sensors immediately inform the system in order to quickly identify errors and optimise production.

Synchronised sensor networks can be used to automate processes, detect faults earlier and increase efficiency. At the same time, companies save costs because they can react faster and plan maintenance with foresight. Whether in industry, smart homes or logistics - synchronised sensor networks are the basis for many smart applications of the future.
