Telepresence collaboration (Glossary)

Telepresence collaboration is particularly at home in the areas of digital transformation, HR work and teams as well as virtual and augmented reality. These are forms of collaboration in which people can use modern technology to work together over long distances as if they were in the same room.

Telepresence collaboration allows employees who are in different locations to work together on projects. They use video conferencing systems, interactive whiteboards or even 3D avatars in a virtual reality. This creates the feeling of actually being on site, even though you are physically somewhere else.

An illustrative example: an international team is planning a new product together. The expert from Berlin, the designer from New York and the engineer from Tokyo meet virtually in a digital conference room. With the help of telepresence technologies, they all see the same prototype, point out details, visualise changes and discuss everything in real time - almost as if they were sitting at the same table.

Telepresence collaboration makes collaboration more flexible, saves travelling costs and protects the environment as fewer business trips are required. This makes modern teamwork efficient and location-independent.
