Inner strength through a positive attitude

An optimistic outlook contributes significantly to coping better with difficult situations. Resilient people see crises as temporary challenges from which new opportunities can arise. Optimism is not an unrealistic glossing over, but a conscious decision to focus on positive aspects and one's own possibilities. A tried and tested way to strengthen this aspect is to practise gratitude on a daily basis. In this way, even small successes or pleasant moments in everyday life can be consciously recognised and appreciated.

BEST PRACTICE at company XYZ (name changed due to NDA contract) As part of an internal workshop, employees were advised to keep a daily gratitude diary. This practice helped many to shift their focus away from stressful situations and towards successful ones. Some report that they were able to improve their motivation during periods of stress and felt more confident in solving problems.

Accepting reality as the basis for new paths

Consciously accepting situations that can no longer be changed opens up space for constructive action and new perspectives. Resilience arises from the ability not to suppress unpleasant events, but to accept and integrate them. This attitude makes it easier to let go and direct energy towards shaping the present and the future.

BEST PRACTICE at company XYZ (name changed due to NDA contract) One project team set up regular reflection sessions in which they recognised challenges together without apportioning blame. This helped to reduce tensions and focus on possible solutions. The openness within the team was experienced as relieving and promoted mutual understanding.

Focussing on solutions instead of problems

Instead of focussing on the problem in difficult situations, it helps to actively look for practical solutions. Solution-oriented behaviour increases the feeling of self-efficacy and reduces stress. It is not necessarily about solving problems immediately, but about finding and realising realistic goals step by step.

BEST PRACTICE at company XYZ (name changed due to NDA contract) In a change process, a manager established a method in which employees formulated concretely which small steps are possible in order to positively influence the overall result. This motivated the team to work independently on improvements and reduced the feeling of helplessness in the uncertain situation.

Reshape your inner attitude towards your own history

Resilient people recognise when it makes sense to leave the role of victim and act in a self-determined way. This means taking responsibility for their own attitude and life circumstances, even if they cannot completely control external factors. The focus is on discovering and utilising one's own power to act in order to create new perspectives.

This attitude helps you not to lose yourself in self-pity, but to actively look for ways to change.

Consciously take control of your own life

Taking responsibility for one's own life results from the realisation that many obligations and challenges can be actively shaped. Resilient people focus on the decisions they can make themselves instead of allowing themselves to be determined by external circumstances. This promotes a sense of control and at the same time a willingness to deal flexibly with change.

Reliable relationships as support in difficult times

Building and maintaining a supportive social network are essential elements. Knowing that you can count on family members, friends or trusted colleagues in an emergency strengthens your inner resilience. This does not mean having to deal with all problems alone, but consciously connecting with others and seeking dialogue.

BEST PRACTICE at company XYZ (name changed due to NDA contract) In a coaching process, the client was encouraged to actively seek out a network of people who were sympathetic to his professional challenges. As a result, he felt less isolated and received constructive stimuli to help him cope with stressful situations.

Realistic planning sets goals and provides orientation

The ability to plan for the future and set realistic goals provides stability and directs energy constructively. Resilience involves recognising one's own possibilities and formulating steps that can contribute to a desired change. This makes major challenges less overwhelming and creates a perspective that motivates.
