The number of electric cars is increasing rapidly

For a long time, electric cars were an inconvenient niche product for ecological nutcases. But with an ever-increasing Reachthe emergence of plug-in hybrids and an increasingly dense Network of charging stations e-cars are slowly competing with combustion vehicles.

As this graphic shows, there are currently only three million e-vehicles on the world's roads, but the current growth rates are immense. With major manufacturers jumping on the electrified bandwagon and e-car champion Tesla leading the way, it seems only a matter of time before Internal combustion engines are an outdated niche product for coal-driving eccentrics.
