Tolerance makes you strong in the Neflental
The frosty night has arrived in the Neflental. Fresh snow glistens everywhere. The bare branches of the trees are covered in a fine hoarfrost and the whole forest looks enchanted. The stars shine particularly brightly in the sky. Their light is reflected in the still waters of the crystal lake. The mountain peaks appear silver and mysterious in the midnight blue light.
Invitation to the Flossians at Crystal Lake
On this cold, clear night, Rosa Periwinkle trudges carefully through the crunching snow. She wants to visit the Flossians who live on the edge of the crystal lake. The Flossians are friendly, but very different from the other creatures in the valley. They live in beautiful stilt houses that float above the water. There they make colourful mosaics from shells and beads that tell of ancient legends from the deep. Many say they are half water creatures, half land dwellers.
A courageous decision
Not everyone in Neflental understands the Flossians. Some think they are strange because they live in the water and speak very differently. Nevertheless, Rosa Periwinkle is not afraid of making new friends. She smiles as she walks across the glistening blanket of snow to the lake. The stars dance on the small waves and the ice cracks softly.
A few Flossians are waiting on the shore. They see Rosa and wave. They have pearl necklaces in their hair and mosaics in their hands. Their laughter sounds like a gentle bubbling of water.
Together by the fire
The Flossians invite Rosa to sit by the fire with them. It crackles and warms her cold fingers. They tell stories of old times, of adventures in the deep night and brave divers. Rosa listens, laughs and feels welcome. She knows that tolerance is important. Only those who are open to new things can truly experience friendship.
A younger Flossian looks at Rosa for a long time. "Many say we're too different to live in Neflental," he whispers cautiously. Rosa says kindly: "You're just right the way you are! There's room for everyone in the Neflental. The valley is magical precisely because you are different." The others nod and a warm glow appears on their faces.
Sparkling memories of a frosty night
The moon shines brightly over the lake and onto the smooth snow. It is as if the snowflakes are preserving memories of light and warmth. The special ringing of the bells of a frosty night can be heard from afar. Together they decide to lay a new mosaic. It should tell of friendship, of the courage to be different and of how beautiful it is when everyone sticks together.
They talk for a long time on this fairytale night by the lake. The sense of security and the feeling of being stronger together grows with every story and every laugh. Rosa Periwinkle thinks: "Tolerance makes you strong. And it's really cool to be different!" Suddenly, tiny sparks of light dance across the water. It seems as if the Neflental itself is glowing happily because everyone is so different and unique.
What do we learn from this?
Everyone is special in their own way. There is room for many beings in the Neflental. Tolerance makes us strong, because friendship only grows when we are allowed to be different. Being different is something unique! At Crystal Lake, the Flossians and Rosa show that life becomes more colourful and beautiful when we accept each other for who we are. The Frost Night remains a night full of hope and courage for everyone in the Neflental and shows that tolerance makes the valley strong and magical.
