UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) belongs to the category of drone technology, automation and Industry 4.0. A UAV, often simply referred to as a "drone", is an aircraft that flies without a pilot on board. It is either remote-controlled or follows a pre-programmed flight plan.

UAVs are used in many areas. In agriculture, for example, they help to monitor fields from the air and spray fertilisers or pesticides in a targeted manner. In industry, they support the inspection of hard-to-access facilities such as wind turbines. They also play an important role in rescue missions by supporting search operations from the air.

An illustrative example: After a storm, a UAV can fly over large areas of forest quickly and safely. This allows images of damaged areas to be obtained from the air. This saves time and reduces the risk of people entering dangerous areas.

The use of UAVs increases efficiency, saves costs and improves safety. Thanks to modern cameras and sensors, they deliver precise data in real time. This makes UAV technology indispensable in more and more industries.
