Changing the world with responsibility: Pink evergreen in the Neflental

A new day begins in the Neflental valley. The morning mist covers the valley like a fluffy cloak. Flowers in delicate colours awaken on the cherry and violet trees. The pastel pink of the blossoms glows softly. Cobwebs shimmer in the dewdrop light, mythical creatures dance as shadows across the meadows.

Rosa Periwinkle is awake very early today. She has a special day ahead of her because she has an important task. A Flossian is already waiting for her on the shore of the crystal lake. He waves, making the dewdrops sparkle in the air. The crystal lake is so clear and calm that the last stars of the night sky glitter in it. The pile dwellings of the Flossians look beautiful. Mosaics of shells and pearls decorate every house. Every stone in the water tells of the deep secrets of the lake.

The big wind and the little courage

Today is Blossom Watch - the time when the whole valley wakes up again. But something happened overnight. A strong wind has uprooted many cherry blossom trees by the lake. Some of the Flossians' houses are now leaning or have become wet. Sad faces are reflected in the pearly white lake. Many animals can no longer find their way back to their nests.

Rosa Periwinkle walks across the damp grass, past bright violets. She feels her heart telling her: "You can help!" Other residents join her, but are still hesitant. Some are afraid of doing something wrong or losing their strength. But Rosa Periwinkle stops and calls out: "Someone has to start! Together we can do it!"

How responsibility begins

She carefully pulls away a few moss-covered branches and lifts a small flossian fish out of the wet grass. A few periwinkles watch as she bravely takes step after step. They bring cloths. The Buchians help support the leaning houses with strong roots. The Flossians mend the mosaics with new shells. Everyone does what they do best - because Rosa Periwinkle has started to take responsibility.

Time passes and the sun rises higher. The fog lifts. Small colourful ribbons now hang from the trees, decorating the place of the flowers. Smiling, the young Flossians paint new pictures from beads on the walls of the houses. The little mythical creatures dance happily between the bushes because they have found a new hiding place. Rosa Periwinkle sees how the valley is finding hope again.

The magic of the crystal lake

As night falls, the stars shine again on the lake. The pile dwellings shine brighter than yesterday. Clear water waves carry new stories to the inhabitants. The Flossians tell how Rosa Immergrün had the courage to take the first step. They admire how she took responsibility. Soon the younger ones also have more confidence - because they realise that helping and talking to others is worthwhile.

What do we learn from this?

It is sometimes difficult to courageously take on responsibility. But when you start, many people often help. In the Neflental, it's not just worth standing by and watching. Taking responsibility makes the world a brighter place. You can change things for the better if you dare. Just like Rosa Periwinkle at the crystal lake.
