More power for you: responsibility in the Neflental valley

Anyone can make a difference in Neflental. You just need the courage to take responsibility. This is exactly what Rosa Immergrün experienced one spring day. The sun bathed the valley in bright gold, fresh green leaves shone on the trees and the violet glade blossomed in a colourful carpet of violets and crocuses. An ancient statue sat enthroned in the centre of the clearing, its eyes sparkling in the sunlight.

The invitation to the violet glade

That morning, Rosa Periwinkle received an important invitation. The white elves asked for help because someone had noticed that the statue in the violet glade seemed to be crying. Her face was marked by pearl grey drops. Many inhabitants of the Neflental were worried. But nobody knew what it meant and many were afraid to ask.

Rosa Periwinkle immediately realised that now was the time to take responsibility. So she made her way to the violet glade. She was determined to clear things up and encourage the others.

The path through the Silbermoos grove

To get to the violet glade, the path led through the Silbermoos grove. Old willows grow there, their branches hanging down into the clear water like green curtains. The ground was covered in silvery moss that shimmered like stardust in the light. Small moss nymphs ran silently back and forth between the roots. Rosa Periwinkle greeted the nymphs in a friendly manner. She listened carefully as the nymphs reported that the silvery light of the moss was slowly fading since the statue in the clearing was sad.

Many would have turned a blind eye. But Rosa Periwinkle said to the moss nymphs: "I'll find out what's going on and help you!" That gave everyone in the silver moss grove hope.

More power through responsibility

Pink periwinkle reached the violet glade. The flowers glowed in violet, sunny yellow and fresh leaf green. The statue stood still in the centre, its face now very calm. She almost felt as if the statue was waiting for someone to have the courage to discover the truth.

Rosa Periwinkle looked round and spotted a small branch that had fallen right on top of the statue. It seemed inconspicuous, but it covered the statue's heart. Rosa Periwinkle took heart and picked up the branch. She felt the sun's rays suddenly shine through the canopy of leaves. The statue's eyes began to glow, just as the violets seemed to dance.

Everyone held their breath. The white elves, the evergreens and even the moss nymphs gathered round. They saw how the statue became happy again and the whole valley relaxed.

Together we can do more!

Because Rosa Periwinkle had taken responsibility, she was able to bring help to the Silvermoss Grove and the Violet Glade. She didn't wait for someone else to do something. She dared and acted. This brought everyone in Neflental closer together. Suddenly everyone realised how strong you become when you take responsibility.

This made the whole Neflental valley a little brighter, the flowers shone more brightly and even the silver moss flowed again like stardust under the old willows.

What do we learn from this?

Responsibility makes you strong. It gives you more power for yourself and for others. No matter how small you are, you can achieve great things if you are courageous and take responsibility. You can make your surroundings shine - just like Rosa Immergrün in Neflental.
